View Full Biography The film tells the story of Ghofrane, a woman in her thirties who decides to place her elderly father in a nursing home in order to finally break with a painful past that continues to haunt her.
During the journey, fragments of her childhood resurface as memories: a little girl torn from her mother despite the latter’s protests, then forced to live far from her family in an environment marked by fear, loneliness, and a lack of affection.
Read more ⌄ While she has been trying for years to suppress this suffering, an unexpected event shatters her certainties. Upon arriving at the nursing home, her father asks for her forgiveness for the first time. Shortly after, an unfinished letter reveals elements that could challenge her understanding of past events. Confronted with a complex and incomplete truth, Ghofrane must choose between the resentment that has accompanied her all her life and the possibility of forgiveness. In a final confrontation with her past, she finally calls her father “Papa”, thus initiating a process of inner reconciliation.
